OUR PROCESS

We're very excited to have you here! We hope you enjoy learning and gaining an understanding of how our projects are created from start to finish.

To Request a Quote Appointment

Our process starts with receiving the filled out form on our website from the Contact Us page. When filling out this form, please take the time, the more details the better. This helps us ensure we are the right contractor for your project or we can recommend someone who might be more suited to your needs. From there we will organise a time to come around and look at your project. These appointments are normally but not always scheduled on a Sunday.

During the Appointment

At this point Anna and Josh will take lots of measurements, notes and photos. Now is your chance to discuss all your ideas from mild to wild, let us know while we are here so we can incorporate these into your designs. It also really helps us if you can let us know of where any services including but not limited to power, water, sewer, irrigation etc are located within the project area. (While we carry out our work with the utmost care, if a service is damaged during the project and Rock Culture SA was not made aware of it in the location, Rock Culture will not be responsible for the cost repair or replacement of the damaged service or service area). Within a week we will have emailed your quote and design, if applicable, through to you. When we email your quote through we will also send you a text message to you making sure you receive the email incase it lands in your spam folder.

Receiving the Quote

We do our best from gathering all the information we have received from you during your initial quote request and our site inspection, to have the quote and design (if applicable) finalised at the time the quote is sent through. However if there are any minor changes you would like us to make please let us know at this stage. Any major changes may incur a design fee. Once the quote has been accepted an estimated start date will be provided. While we do our best to keep to these dates, due to the nature of our work we are sometimes at the mercy of the weather and can effect these dates. At the time we provide you with an estimated start date we will also send you a deposit invoice which the details will be included on the quote. We require that the deposit be paid atleast 4 weeks before the estimated start date to ensure materials are on site for project to begin in a timely manner. As we close in on our estimated start date we will get in contact with you to confirm the start date.

Project Details

When we arrive at your project we welcome any questions and queries but once work commences we advice you please stay clear of any machinery and the project area for your safety. The other thing we do ask is access to a working power point and a tap. While we are on site we will often share photos and videos of our work, you will be able to see these on our social media. If you have a reason for us not to share this content, please let us known before hand. The time we are on your property greatly depends on the size of the project but it is not uncommon for us to work 10 hour days 6 days a week. Once the project is completed we will do a walkthrough with the you (if you are available) discussing the project. Upon completion the final invoice will be sent. After this if there are any issues we are only a phone call or email away.

Things to Know Before Requesting a Quote Appointment

Pricing

Some of the major factors that decide the price of the project are:

Stone: All quarries have their own price list and there isn’t a set standard per tonne price for rocks. Another factor that can effect the price of the stone is how far away from the quarry your project is.

Irrigation: A irrigation system can start from around $500 and end up in excess of $5000, depending on the size of your project and the level of automation you are looking for.

Plants: The size of the plants we install can influence the price. If you are looking to keep the price down we can suggest planting tube stocks, infant plants that will take some time to grow and create impact on the landscape or we can install more established plants to give the area a more instant impact upon project completion.

Access: Accessibility to the project area is a major factor to consider. Are we able to bring trucks and machines directly to the project area or does everything need to be brought in with a wheel barrow?

Demolition: Is there anything existing on the site already versus a blank slate that doesn’t need any demolition of existing structures.

In short terms our projects generally start at around $10,000 and can exceed $60,000, it is coming to these numbers that are a bit more technical making it a little harder to give a accurate estimate without seeing the site and recording detailed measurements and photographs, that we can then begin to create an accurate quote for you.
